Parents and Guardians,
The Lone Rock School and school board of Trustees will be developing a comprehensive strategic plan for the school district to include the work that was done by the Lone Rock Rocket Vision group of 2020. To start the district will be holding two public listening sessions to better understand and continue to develop a listing of priorities for the elementary and middle schools that are rooted in refined goals for the board of trustees. This process will be developed over the next six months and will culminate with a school board approved strategic plan that sets forth the direction for the school district in the short and long term including some audacious goals for what the school district will look like 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years into the future. The culminating document will serve as the springboard to the decisions and programs that are offered in the district and will be re-visited and updated annually in July to set the tone for the new upcoming school year. The administration will develop goals and objectives based upon this strategic plan for the school district and each employee of the district will also create professional goals and objectives that are aligned to the district strategic plan. To kick things off the district will be hosting two public listening sessions March 30th and April 27th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm both sessions will be available via in person and via digital videoconferencing to develop a sense of community priorities for the district. The employees of the district will also be giving the trustees feedback to include in the strategic plan. There will be a commitment to update the school board at each meeting on the goals for each area of the plan. The official plan will be adopted by the school district at a public meeting in June or July of 2021 after the district has an opportunity to listen to feedback from all stakeholders. Please plan on attending the listening sessions in March and April to give your input into the development of the strategic plan for the Lone Rock School.
