About Lone rock

Opened in 1885, Lone Rock School is the oldest continuously operating public school in Montana

Lone Rock School is small and personal. We have an average enrollment of 250, about 22 students per grade. Our ratio of students to staff is 12.3 to 1

Our staff is dedicated to providing a healthy and enriching learning experience in a "family" setting and promoting a student-centered education

The campus consists of the K-2nd grade building (built in 1992), 3rd-5th grade building (built in 1914), the Middle School (6th-8th, built in 2000), Middle School gym (built in 2012), and multi-purpose room (cafeteria- kitchen-elementary gym, built in 1973)
