This positive case is a new case of COVID-19 and not related to any other case at the school or as a result of contact tracing. The Ravalli County Health Department is working directly with the Lone Rock School to complete contact tracing and notification of parents. The Lone Rock Elementary School is cleaned using the electrostatic foggers daily to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Lone Rock Elementary school will continue to be open as scheduled.

As you know, we have designed our classrooms and learning spaces to be physically-distanced and we are trying to mitigate risk. Face coverings continue to be highly recommended, but remain optional. The Ravalli County Health Department determined through its case investigation the listing of students or employees that were close contacts to the positive case and needed to be quarantined and/or be tested. It is still recommended that any person who feels sick or ill, seek out their medical provider for specific instructions, and stay home when you are sick.

School officials will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further information when it becomes available.

Lone Rock School is located in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley, tucked up against the Sapphire Mountains.

We opened in 1885 and have been in continuous operation since. We are a Title I school and our student enrollment hovers around 195, with about 22 students per grade.

Our staff is dedicated to providing a healthy and enriching learning experience, in a very "family" setting.
