Lone Rock School District - Distance Learning Agreement

Distance Learning Provider - Edmentum

11/18/20 2:44pm

Parents and Guardians,

On Wednesday November 18th at 2:20pm the Lone Rock School District was notified that a new elementary staff member tested positive for COVID-19. The positive test was confirmed on November 18, 2020 and reported to the school on November 18, 2020. According to the Ravalli County Health Department, the District’s staff and students were in contact with the adult staff member during the period of possible exposure on Friday November 6, 2020. The staff member was last in school on Friday November 6, 2020, in person. Since November 6, 2020 the elementary school staff member has not been in attendance at the school, and has since been placed into isolation after a positive COVID-19 test result.

This positive case is a new case of COVID-19 and not related to any other case at the school or as a result of contact tracing. The Ravalli County Health Department has completed their contact tracing for this case, on Wednesday November 18, 2020 and all affected individuals (staff and students) have been placed into quarantine. The Ravalli County Health Department is working directly with the Lone Rock School to complete contact tracing and notification of parents as their office is currently overwhelmed with COVID-19 cases. The Lone Rock Elementary School is cleaned using the electrostatic foggers daily to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Lone Rock elementary school will continue to be open as scheduled.

As you know, we have designed our classrooms and learning spaces to be physically-distanced and our mask policy further mitigates risk. However, the Ravalli County Health Department determined through its case investigation the listing of students or employees that were close contacts to the positive case and needed to be quarantined and/or be tested. It is still recommended that any person who feels sick or ill, seek out their medical provider for specific instructions.

School officials will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further information when it becomes available.

Sincerely,

Robert DoBell

Superintendent/Principal

Lone Rock School is located in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley, tucked up against the Sapphire Mountains.

We opened in 1885 and have been in continuous operation since. We are a Title I school and our student enrollment hovers around 195, with about 22 students per grade.

Our staff is dedicated to providing a healthy and enriching learning experience, in a very "family" setting.
