Parents and Guardians,

On Sunday October 18, 2020, at 4:30 pm the Lone Rock School District was notified that a new middle school student tested positive for COVID-19. The positive test was confirmed on October 13, 2020 and reported to the school on Sunday October 18, 2020. According to the Ravalli County Health Department, the District’s staff and students were in contact with the middle school student during the period of possible exposure on Friday October 9, 2020 and Monday October 12, 2020. The student was last in school on Monday October 12, 2020 in person. Since October 12, 2020 the middle school student has not been in attendance at the school.

This positive case is not connected or a result of contact tracing from the previous positive case last week, as this is a new case. Ravalli County Health Department has completed their contact tracing for this case, on Sunday October 18, 2020 and all affected individuals have been placed into quarantine. The Lone Rock Middle School was cleaned using the electrostatic foggers on Tuesday October 13th after the student was in attendance. The Lone Rock Middle school will be open tomorrow Monday October 19, 2020 as scheduled.

As you know, we have designed our classrooms and learning spaces to be physically-distanced and our mask policy further mitigates risk. However, the Ravalli County Health Department determined through its case investigation the listing of students or employees that were close contacts to the positive case and needed to be quarantined and/or be tested. It is still recommended that any person who feels sick or ill, seek out their medical provider for specific instructions.

School officials will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further information when it becomes available.

Sincerely,

Robert DoBell

Superintendent

Parents and Guardians,

Good afternoon. An update on the temporary Lone Rock middle school closure. The Ravalli County Health Department's contact tracing has been completed, and they have notified those individuals that need to quarantine. As a result, "in person" middle school instruction here at Lone Rock School, will resume on Wednesday October 14, 2020. The district will have our transportation and food service available like a normal school day.

Sincerely,

Robert DoBell

Superintendent

October 13, 2020 8:00am

Parents and Guardians,

Good morning. An update on the temporary Lone Rock middle school closure. Once the Ravalli County Health Department completes contact tracing and they give us the green light, the middle school will be re-opened for "in-person" learning for those students that are enrolled in that program. Further updates will be forthcoming as we get more information.

Thank you,

Robert DoBell

Superintendent

October 12, 2020

Parents and Guardians,

On Monday October 12, 2020, at 8:00 am the Lone Rock School District was notified that a middle school student tested positive for COVID-19. The positive test was confirmed on October 9, 2020 and reported to the school on Monday October 12, 2020. According to the Ravalli County Health Department, the District’s staff and students were in contact with the middle school student during the period of possible exposure on Wednesday October 7, 2020. The student was last in school on Wednesday October 7, 2020 in person. Since October 8, 2020 the middle school student has not been in attendance at the school.

Out of an abundance of caution Lone Rock Middle school students will be sent home today at 10:30am to give the Ravalli County Health Department time to complete the contact tracing. Due to the extent of the possible spread the district does not have enough substitutes to cover the entire Middle School. There will be an emergency board meeting tonight at 7:00pm via zoom to move students from temporary in-person learning to temporary online instruction while the contact tracing is completed. The zoom meeting information will be posted on the school website. All middle school extra-curricular activities have been temporarily suspended, and will resume once contact tracing is completed and the middle school re-opens.

If any staff or students are at risk of exposure, the Ravalli County Health Department will be in contact with that person to determine a safe and appropriate course of action. As you know, we have designed our classrooms and learning spaces to be physically-distanced and our mask policy further mitigates risk. However, the Ravalli County Health Department will, through its case investigation, determine if any of our students or employees are close contacts to the positive case and need to quarantine and/or be tested. It is still recommended that any person who feels sick or ill, seek out their medical provider for specific instructions.

The Lone Rock School District is in contact with the Ravalli County Health Department and reviewing the Centers for Disease Control guidance to complete cleaning the school and other related facilities. School officials will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further information when it becomes available.

Sincerely,

Robert DoBell

Superintendent
